I have noticed in my short experience in recruiting , that on this small island of Trinidad and Tobago Experience in your field is like precious gold!
My concern is for those young kids now leaving school. There is a huge disconnect from University or even Secondary schooling into the world of work. In Trinidad and Tobago there is a major gap with regards to internship program. The Government has started the OJT programme a couple years ago but there is still a gap.
Employers seem not to want to want to 'risk it' by taking the chance with a new graduate.
What shall we do?
